Myth 2: You’ll be hungry all the time.
Fact: Research shows that during the fasting hours hunger actually decreases. After the first two weeks, fasting gets easier and easier. Feelings of hunger come in short intervals and disappear quickly, especially when the body becomes fat-adapted.
Myth 3. Intermittent fasting is bad for your health.
Fact: More and more physicians are recommending intermittent fasting for their patients with obesity, cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Having a daily fasting practice has been shown to prolong lifespan and has major benefits for metabolic health, such as reduced oxidative stress and inflammation.
Fasting also boosts brain health by elevating levels of BDNF, a hormone that protects against depression and other mental conditions.
